Pioneering English aviator Amy Johnson worked as a typist for a firm of solicitors before becoming the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia in 1930. The distance: 18,000 kilometers (around 11,000 miles).
London-based animator Lizzy Hobbs created this award-winning short film with an Underwood 315 typewriter as a celebration of Johnson’s journey. The name of the short, G-AAAH, refers to Johnson’s de Havilland DH.60 Gipsy Moth G-AAAH named ‘Jason’. You can see it at the Science Museum in London, England.
